First logo  What is FIRST?  FIRST stands For Inspiration and Recognition of Science & Technology.  FIRST was started by Dean Kamen in 1989 to inspire young people to be science and technology leaders.  The FIRST Robotics Competition teams professionals and young people to solve an engineering design problem.  Teams have six-weeks to design, build and program a robot to  achieve a task and compete in a sports arena.  The FIRST Robotics competition is an exciting, multi-national event.  The program is a life-changing, career molding experience - and a lot of fun!  Learn more

The 2014 FIRST robotics games are AERIAL ASSIST.  AERIAL ASSIST is played by two competing Alliances of three robots on a field. Alliances work together  to score points by placing large balls in goals.  Each match is  two minute and thirty seconds long. The more Alliances are able to score their ball in their goals the more points their Alliance will recieve.  Click here for additional information and to watch a video of the game.
