Berlin FIRST builds robots designed by the team, then competes at Regional and National Competitions. The FIRST Robotics Competition is an exciting, multi-national competition that teams professionals and young people to solve an engineering design problem in an intense and competitive way.
The program is a life-changing, career-molding experience—and a lot of fun. In the 2009 season, the competition reached 42,075 high-school students on 1,683 teams. There were 40 Regional events in the U.S., Canada, and Israel; seven District competitions and one State Championship in Michigan. Teams came from 48 states in the U.S., Brazil, Canada, Chile, Germany, Israel, Mexico, the Netherlands, the Philippines, Turkey, and the U.K. New members are always welcome, and building occurs at night or on weekends at McGee Middle School.
